Dancing With the Stars' Maks and Karina Join Burn the Floor on B'way

Dancing With the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina Smirnoff are taking their act from the hit ABC television series to Broadway: The duo will join the cast of Burn the Floor for the first three weeks (July 25-August 16) of the show’s 12-week run.

The engaged-in-real-life Chmerkovskiy and Smirnoff will be surrounded by a group of competitive dancers who collectively hold more than 100 Latin and ballroom titles: Henry Bayalikov (NBC’s Superstars of Dance), Sharna Burgess (Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance), Kevin Clifton, Sasha Farber, Jeremy Garner, Anya Garnis (Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance), Gordana Grandosek, Patrick Helm, Sarah Hives (Dancing With the Stars), Melanie Hooper, Peta Murgatroyd (Dancing With the Stars), Giselle Peacock, Sarah Soriano, Damon & Rebecca Sugden, Damian Whitewood, Trent Widdon (Australia’s Dancing With the Stars) and Robin Windsor. 

A blend of Latin and ballroom dance, Burn the Floor was created, directed and choreographed by Jason Gilkison. Previews begin at the Longacre Theatre on July 25 and opening night is set for August 2.
